Meet Your Directors
Mrs. Danielle Nommensen and Mrs. Anissa Danley are the 5th grade beginning band directors. Mrs. Danley was originally a clarinet player, branching out to saxophone and contra clarinet during high school and beyond. Mrs. Nommensen is a trumpet player!
Mrs. Nommensen and Mrs. Danley will be both teaching all small group sectionals this year. These lessons will be taught during the school day on a rotating schedule for approximately 25 minutes each time. Students will be pulled from their regular schedule to receive individualized attention. Of course if there is a test or difficult lesson happening in their classroom, the parent, teacher or student may request that they be excused from band that day. The rotation schedule will be distributed ASAP.

Student Expectations
Students need to attend all rehearsals, unless excused in advance by the director, or in cases of illness. Please notify Mrs. Danley or Mrs. Nommensen by e-mail if your child can not attend a rehearsal.
Students also need to be prompt to their rehearsals. Time is at a minimum and we want to help your children succeed. It is very hard for a child to develop good warm-up and practice habits, when they always miss this part of the lesson.
Students are required to practice their instruments at home. It is nice to have a quiet room with few distractions. There are amazingly helpful tools included on the IPS app with the sign-up code located in your child’s book. Please encourage them to use these resources on their iPad!
